I finally decided to buy a helping hand and I came across this one when I did an internet search. Withthe different options that this one offered, compared to similar helping hands, I decided to go with this one and I am glad I did, this helping hand has been terrific! I have broken it down into my opinion of the pros and cons.Pros-Well-built, all-metal design.Heavy metal base with rubber feet stays in place, does not slide around or tip easily, powder coatingresists rust, burns and chipping.PCB holders have strong magnetic bases that hold securely to the base but can be repositioned easilyHelping hand arms have a very strong magnetic base that hold firmly but can repositioned, the arms can be manipulated into position easily but hold without sagging, the alligator clips are very strong and hold pieces very sturdy.Having the hot air gun holders are a nice bonus, big reason I went with this model, as it frees up your hands and holds the gun at a precise and consistent height.Thumb screws make adjustments quick and easy.The lock ring is also a nice addition as you can set it so that the arm(s) don’t accidentally fall onto your work when adjusting them.Extra alligator clip with thumbscrew included.Cons-Several of the thumb screws are coated with plastic making it impossible to screw into place without removing it from the threads first, not hard to do but a little annoying.Hot air gun stand could be a little taller, even include a second pipe as an option to make it taller.Small hot air gun holder barely holds Lytool brand, opening almost too small and larger holder is almost too big and is difficult to get gun centered with screws. Kendall 853D rework station hot air gun fits easily into small gun holder but is also difficult to get centered.No instructions for set-up, could be confusing though not difficult.Overall this helping hand has been excellent and held up well, I would definitely recommend buying it.
