Review on Thermometer Instant Backlight Battery Included Kitchen & Dining by Amber Jensen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

OK, but needs more detailed instructions

This thermometer was well packaged and ready to use, with both the probe attached and the longer one. There's also a little plastic thing for opening the battery compartment (a coin will do if I inevitably lose the little drive). It even has a built-in bottle opener, which can come in handy if you're a garden griller who works with a bottle. The instructions are pretty minimal and the english is bad enough to be hard to understand. They may also be referring to a different model as they tell you to press number keys but there aren't any. It took me several attempts to calibrate the device. I tried it first with bread which should be 190F (you can choose F or C btw). But the alarm went off at 155F. Did I accidentally put it in? I have no idea. It reaches the actual temperature very quickly. The thermometer has a feature where you can insert a longer probe, close the oven, and leave the device out of the oven. And then you can set an alarm when the meat reaches a certain temperature. It sounds convenient, but I rarely bake or roast meat, so I haven't tried it. The temperature display is nice, big and easy to read.
