Review on Uniden 1260BK Black Slimline Caller by Omar Bloomer

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not suitable for landlines

The phone is well built but has a few inherent issues. The first relates to a small button on the phone that should slide out. Some complain, claiming that if their face touches the button, they pick up the phone. I had the MUTUAL problem; When I pick up the handset from the base, the button doesn't always come out (i.e. I haven't picked up the phone yet) and I have to tap or tap the handset to answer the call. The second problem is that the call ID display is very difficult to read and almost impossible to read unless you are looking straight at the phone perpendicularly. This means if the phone is on a table you have to stand directly over the phone to read the caller ID, and if the phone is wall mounted you have to stand directly in front of the phone - level - to the callers read ID. Therefore, if you need this feature, you'll have to mount it on the wall at exactly eye level - and hope that nobody much lower or higher will answer the calls. The final disappointment of this phone is that NONE of the cords are replaceable. That is, the cable from the phone to the wall is sewn into the phone. If the little clip on the connector breaks, you're SOL. The coiled cord from the base to the handset is also rigid, so if you need a longer or shorter handset cord, that's fine. Those issues aside, it feels like a solid phone and sound clarity is good.
