Upon unboxing I was immediately disappointed with the lack of quality of this product. A typical budget PDA production. I just assembled the pump and changed the oil in the boat. The engine was started to bring the oil up to operating temperature as recommended. Cheap alligator clips were attached to clean battery terminals, a suction tube was inserted into the dipstick hole, and the power switch was flipped to the ON position. The pump started and then stopped abruptly. After several switching cycles, the switch worked for several minutes and then switched off again. I was able to keep the pump running by turning on the power switch long enough to get the job done. WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. This pump is slow, unstable and poorly made. Buy a hand pump for a little more and be assured that changing the oil isn't any more of a hassle than you thought. Update: The manufacturer refunded me for the product and allowed me to keep the pump. Try to repair the broken pump. Here I will share my modification recommendations.
