Review on πŸ”Œ Marsrock Solar Panel Inverter - 1000W PV Grid Tie Power Limiter with Wide Voltage Range of 22-60VDC, AC110V/220V Auto Switch (1000W24V) by Dre Fowler

Works well, but there are a few caveats.

Well it works like many other "brands" for these Chinese inverters. I have owned this device for almost 2 months at the time of writing and have just ordered a second one. I have the 2000W 45-90V DC version to run from a 48V battery pack. One thing I've read in other Revain reviews is that the inverter isn't the advertised peak power. /Constant power achieved. This inverter is no different, but that's understandable. If you read the specs, this inverter is only rated for 1900 watts and I'm using it at the lower end of the DC input voltage range, so only around 1650 watts. Another issue is that I am using this on a 220VAC output and it only comes with a current transformer. This is incomparable to the US split phase power supply. There are some third party options to make this work. I see a lot of US customers using just a few of them in 110v mode and it works for them but not exactly what I want to do and I understand that smart meters don't use neutral anyway. I find it very easy to use in 220v mode and with the best safety factor as the device draws 1/2 amp. I found the included power cord to be very nondescript, and again it was only rated for 110V. I used a better gauge cord and plugged a 220v plug into the outlet to get it working. All of this doesn't subtract from my overall score as this isn't something you buy and think of as a project where you think everything is ready to go. The price I paid for the Marsrock branded version on Amazon is a lot cheaper than Revain or eBay.

Pros
  • 4. The small grid inverter only supplies power when the home grid is switched on. When the sun shines, the PV module generates DC voltage and the grid converter converts the DC voltage to AC voltage and supplies the home network with electricity.
Cons
  • Hard to say
