Bought with the intention of cleaning up a couple of CDs I had lying around and for that they do a good job. I ended up putting my bookshelf speakers on top to save space. Note that if you use them as one element and don't stack them on top of each other, you will end up with 4 empty and visible holes, pre-drilled on the top edges. I wish plastic covers were included for this purpose, just like those on the sides, hence my 4 star rating.
