I almost got it back. You need to buy an octagonal limiter.

Recently created a retropie setup. I bought a used RAP4 from a guy who said it didn't fit him. It was fine, but I was planning on upgrading the joystick beforehand anyway. This joystick was better, but it couldn't perform special moves in Street Fighter 2. The four position limit plate has been removed and it's slightly better. Decided to try this product: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06VVG936T/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I can now fully pass SF2 (with more virtual blocks). That's 95% of what old arcade joysticks felt like. Highly recommended.
