Sanwa products are made in Japan and have a box style on the packaging. The packaging of this product is all white, no pictures, but it also clearly states that this joystick is made in China. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT

This stick is excellent, very smooth and easily converts to 4 sided. I made this so my wife could play Miss Pac-Man on the Pandora's box 6 that I bought. It comes standard with eight-way joysticks, and she had trouble with that joystick. So I replaced it with this one (it was a simple process btw).

I installed this in my Arcade 1UP Street Fighter 2 case, much better than the original. The sanwa is 5 pin so you need to figure out which wire to connect it to, hope my photo helps. If you mount it in the same direction as mine then: Black = Earth. Yellow = up. Green = Down. Orange = Correct. Red = Left. You only need one ground wire, so remove the other three useless ground wires.

The perfect replacement stick for Mayflash F101. There were problems with the joystick not recognizing all directions, but I tried a different cable and swapped the cable and now it works fine. A five-pin cable is required (sold separately) but can be purchased as 5 for $3 so it doesn't matter. The installation itself was very easy - I went in completely blind and figured it out with no problems. Highly Recommended.

I set it up as a 4 track for Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man etc. Easy to plug into a USB encoder and use with Mame etc. I will be buying another one with some buttons for 8-way adjustment to use with other games. Solid feeling. It feels like I'm in an arcade. The tablet is easy to switch, but not something you'll want to switch every time you switch games. I see the plastic tabs failing after too many toggles. I tried Pac-Man in 8-sided mode and the game was more difficult. A lot of mistakes. Do yourself

Recently created a retropie setup. I bought a used RAP4 from a guy who said it didn't fit him. It was fine, but I was planning on upgrading the joystick beforehand anyway. So I gave this joystick an A for ease of installation BUT I put it in a three button Sega Genesis arcade joystick case and it required some ingenuity as the joystick wasn't really fits in stock The Sega arcade case was not designed for this. Due to joystick issues on my two Arcade1up machines, I installed one of these on two different Arcade1up machines (Mortal Kombat and NBA Jam). They feel similar to standard sticks, but there's definitely a difference in quality. The click is a little quieter and sounds less cheap than standard Arcade1up sticks.
