Sounds great. I recently bought a "budget" tube amp and after reading countless reviews of available tube preamps I decided on this one based on the good reviews and confidence in the Musical Fidelity name and I am not disappointed in any way. Soft, quiet and transparent. Love it and would recommend it to anyone who has 3k or so for a full vinyl setup, not 3k just for a phono stage.
