Nice thick paste that slides right out of the pouch. I've bought these Core Tiny Tasters sporadically over the course of a year for my older kitties (I think I tried them out when they first came out). They change their minds about what flavor and texture they want. These pouches are definitely wet pies, but they are very slippery. Almost like mousse, but dense. I can add water to make it liquid or they can enjoy it as solid wet food. There are no crumbs or leftovers. Simply smooth. Something close to baby food. I think kittens that like to lick food from puzzle treats or lick rugs will love the food being broken into a toy or rug. Packages are simply torn up. Since they aren't very wet, I'm not worried about food getting on them. But to be sure, I sometimes cut open the bag with scissors. I usually dump everything at once, and if not, I use a clothespin or food peg to keep it covered and fresh.
