I love this water pitcher because of its size. We use infused water and I always refill when the pitcher is half full. The silicone tray on the bottom helps keep the pitcher in place (no slipping from condensation) and protects against hard surfaces like stone countertops, but can be removed for cleaning. The jug fits perfectly on the top shelf of our fridge and in the door (other competitors were too tall or too wide). The glass is borosilicate so can handle warmer liquids (although I would cool a very hot/boiling liquid first). The glass is a comfortable weight - the base isn't as thick as the smaller handleless version, but the silicone cup helps). The handle feels flimsy, so I carefully remove the jug from the fridge, usually using two hands. We use this for infused water - the top has 3 options; an open side (free flow), a mesh side (to keep particles out of your jar), and a closed side. However, the closed side doesn't completely seal the contents, so I wouldn't store perishables like milk.
