I have used this with the cheaper Xlab Torpedo 100 system. The neoprene sheath is a bit too long for the straw. So I had to shorten it a bit. Also, the straw will be too thick to use a dovetail straw holder. So you have to either crop it creatively or put a straw around your face. In any case, the cap fits exactly on the torpedo bottle. It also adds thickness and makes it more difficult to insert and remove the bottle from the X-Lab plastic V-cage. The tight fit makes it a pain in the ass. Remove the wash bottle. Also removing the laundry cover is a lot of work. As for the isolation. Well, I can't say I've noticed major benefits from using it. I drive in the HOT desert of the Southwest and typically drink a bottle an hour. So it doesn't really take long for liquids to get very hot. Because of the way your body and bottle are positioned, the torpedo bottle will never be exposed to direct sunlight to get very hot. I suppose you could argue that the cap keeps your liquid cool while the bike is in transition. Although most swimmers start early and you'll most likely be as early as 9:35am (the end of the Ironman swim), it's still not too hot. even in the desert. Overall installation and setup was a pain. The flexible straw defeats what I love about the Torpedo system, which is the straw clip. and I just haven't noticed much benefit from it. Instead, save money and buy ice cream.
