I've been in professional AV for quite some time and I'm very familiar with the big players in the industry when it comes to mounts, stands and everything else. of that nature. However, when I came across a free Samsung UN55H7150 55-inch TV, which is about 4 years old, I didn't want to spend money on an expensive (albeit high-quality) mount or stand from companies like Sanus, Cheif, Omnimount or spend to anyone else. So I found myself on Amazon looking for a stand that would last the remaining life of a free TV I had purchased. I bought this mount with high expectations but realistic expectations given the low cost of the product. This mount does everything you could want in a mount/stand and is pretty cheap. The stand feels a little light, the metal is most likely aluminum as it's too light for steel and will likely struggle to hold a heavier TV, but it worked great for me. The glass base is a beautiful glossy black color and the panning motion is smooth. One problem I've encountered is the screws that go into the VESA points on the TV itself. This bracket comes with 4 screws and spacers of different sizes/lengths. It's just not enough to cover all the screw size options on the back of today's TV. I had to use thicker screws but the short ones were too short to engage the threads and the long ones, even with BOTH standoffs, were too long leaving some slack to wiggle the TV. As everything else is already assembled and the mount is perfect for my purposes except for the screws, I will keep it to myself and buy myself screws or large spacers in the next few days, but if the mount is advertised as a universal mount then ALL the optional ones need to be included VESA screws packaged or supplied with larger spacers. Overall this is a good, solid, all-purpose desk mount and I have no complaints about its form or function other than the screws/eyelets. Even if the screws/eyelets aren't perfectly tight, I can leave the TV like that for a few days with the security locks that come with the bracket you attach to it until I get the eyelets/screws right.
