The quality is not the same anymore

When I first ordered them in June the ones I received were of decent quality. Not the thickest or strongest, but significantly better than the regular silver ones I've used in the past. However, when I received my second order, which I bought in August, I was very disappointed. While the packaging and overall look are the same, the material is definitely NOT. They are no more durable than the cheap silver mylar rescue blankets you can buy anywhere. They are a similar orange coloration to the first order, however the luster is different and the durability of the plastic sheets themselves is much less as they tear easily and form punctures and cracks as well as cracks in the metal layer (once lost through part of the metal heat penetrates as if it were just a thin sheet of plastic). The original ones I bought in June are still holding up well, but this second set, which I bought in June, while worth the same high price, is no more durable than the cheap standard silvers I've bought elsewhere . I wouldn't recommend them to anyone for the price unless the company brings the quality back to where it was originally (which of course they never do as profit is more important than quality or their reputation). They're still good for insulation if you're extremely careful with them (how these cheap things survive outdoors where rocks, sticks, trees and even rough grass can easily make a hole or tear I have no idea, but I would don't trust them to do it). I'm willing to pay a higher price for actual quality, but once a company starts cutting corners to rest on their laurels, I start buying replacements from another manufacturer.

Pros
  • Emergency blankets
Cons
  • Very expensive
