It worked much better than I expected.

I've heard that wireless chargers are slower than wired chargers, but I was surprised (in a good way). It's actually not that slow. My new iPhone 8 Plus was taking up too much desk space and it was even worse when the charging cable was plugged in. This charger gives you a nice place to put your phone where you can see the screen well and take up less space. I assumed the wireless stand would only charge the phone while relaxing. Not so. Plugged it in for the first time today and here are my unscientific results: Battery charge when installed in a stand - 59%. 1 hour later 84%. 1.5 hours later 95%. After 2 hours 98%. 2:05 later 100%. It's going much faster than I thought. My iPhone has a thin TPU case about 2mm thick and the charger didn't seem to care. Playing music on the Pandora was quite comfortable as the battery didn't charge to 100% for over an hour and the speakers sounded good. . I don't know why as the bottom edge of the charger seems to cover it but perhaps the curved case gives enough clearance. When you want to harness the full power of your phone's microscopic speakers, you can simply lay your phone on its side and aim these massive subwoofers toward your listening area. The phone charges both vertically and horizontally. The phone never got warm while charging, but the back did get a little warm (almost a little) while I was charging and playing Pandora at the same time. A charger with a very nice design that perfectly suits my needs. If I ever need an emergency quick charge, the cables are there for it. Highly recommended.

Pros
  • Outstanding design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
