Sound Storm Laboratories SWK4 Useless Kit

I've had to replace quite a bit or buy additional cables. I installed a subwoofer and amplifier in my 2003 Chevy Suburban. The battery is located at the front on the driver's side. So I routed the power cord on the back driver's side (meaning I don't run the cord through my truck), the power cord didn't come long enough as part of this. I ended up buying another 25 foot 4 gauge cable on ebay. I routed an audio cable (cinch) on the passenger side. Its length is also not long enough to get to the amplifier. I had to order another RCA and ended up buying a STEREN 2 RCA Stereo Audio Cable (25ft). Same problem with the remote start cable. The fuse and clips are the only items I was able to use from this set. Another thing I felt was that the OFC 4 gauge cable I bought on ebay had a heavier gauge wire than this one. Is there a difference in the material of the conductor? Since this power cable doesn't fit all 4GA connectors, I'm pretty sure it's not a true 4GA cable. The supplied speaker cable is not good. The best way I've found is to purchase each item separately if you're installing it on a larger truck like mine. It comes with a 60A fuse that delivers a maximum power of 720W at 12V (12*60).

Pros
  • 17ft. Heavy Duty RCA Connection 6ft. Split Tubes (20) 4" Cable Ties (3) Rubber Grommets
Cons
  • So far so good
