More Retinol-based Moisturizer

Olay ProX Anti-Aging Deep Wrinkle is more of a retinol-based moisturizer than an advanced serum/treatment. However, this is a decent option for people who want to incorporate retinol into their daily routine and don't want to play with additional moisturizers, niacinamide, and peptide boosters. It's a bit overpriced for what it's worth considering the other options available on the market. My retinol tolerance is quite high, even using 1% concentration daily doesn't cause me any problems; but retinol is one of the ingredients that has shown amazing results in my skincare routine. This Olay contains less retinol (or is less potent) than my favorite 1% serum/retinol boosters, but it was a decent "maintenance" retinol product. I'm in my early 30's, have fine lines around my eyes and mouth (smile lines) and a few deepening wrinkles on my forehead. Immediately and in the morning after using this serum, my skin was only slightly tightened, but generally there was no visible improvement in my lines. I already have a very well thought out skincare routine and sometimes I have a hard time seeing dramatic changes when I add a new product. I have combination skin and have not noticed any oiliness, breakouts or closed pores in my skin. My skin was a little more hydrated than usual. I love that Olay formulated a more robust formula (it also contains peptides and niacinamide) that's free of fragrances and other irritants. The consistency of the product is more like a cream than a lotion; it's not easy, but it's not difficult either. It's just a classic thick cream texture, a bit sticky and not very elegant (compared to other similar serums). It takes a few minutes to fully absorb, but other than that it goes well with my other skincare products. It rolled under some other boosters (vitamin C spot treatment and benzoyl peroxide treatment). I only use it at night, can't tell if it holds up well under makeup. This product has a peculiar odor, something chemical/medicinal/cosmetic (I call it an old lady powdery cosmetic trail), but it didn't bother me too much. I appreciate that Olei chose not to cover it with disturbing scents.
