The industry generally uses "vanity" sizing for pants, so 32" pants are actually designed to fit a 34" waist. And to get your belt size, you can add two inches or measure yourself and you're done. However, for some reason the size for it is a bit ridiculous, more like 4 inches. So I ordered a 36 strap for my 32 inch pants and yes it works. But the belt holes are a little off. Very strange. It is actually a well made belt, the fit is so imperfect that you notice it when you wear it.
