I bought these when they first came out and used them with a Pi4 8GB running a Retropie. Over time, the fan got louder and louder and eventually just shut off after about a month. As soon as it got really loud I switched to the second and it was loud from the start. It ended up roasting my Pi. First I tried setting the variable speed as instructed but I couldn't turn it on so I had to keep turning it on. One small issue is that it covers pins 5 and 6, so you can't add a button to turn the system on and off automatically. I had to add a GPIO extender to regain access to the pins. Overall it's a good idea, but not a very good execution and the fan quality is poor.
