Review on πŸ”Œ CAT 8 Ethernet Cable for Industrial Electric Networking: Ultimate Performance & Reliability by Darrin Parasson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great upgrade for my Cat 5s.

I have switched from my old Cat 5 cables for my router and media server to two 3 foot Cat 8 cables. My 5 cats were old and unshielded. I had a lot of weird behavior from my wifi and media server but nothing else so I knew it was the cables for some reason. and after plugging them in, I was surprised by several things. The weird behavior I was having has stopped which could be related to the shielding, but something unforeseen happened and now I can finally get a Wi-Fi signal in a dead spot in my house that I didn't think was that cables will be repaired / abandoned. I've never gotten more than one signal bar on a device before using it in this area, so I'm pretty sure it's the cables. Now I'm getting 4 tracks on the 3 devices I've tried in this area. So whether it's cable, shielding, or both I don't know or worry, but it was a big surprise. My media server is also very responsive now. My Cat 5 always takes around 15-30 seconds to be recognized in the app I'm accessing it with and all the media playing lags a bit at first, but now when I press the media server app it shows up as soon as the app loads and the media itself starts without any delay. Overall the cables seem solid, the 2 pack was great value and I've really noticed improvements. In itself, the improvement in Wi-Fi in the wireless zone was an unexpected bonus.

Pros
  • cables and accessories
Cons
  • boring packaging
