bad design. You push it down to align it horizontally with the ironing board, and if you want it to go vertical again you have to keep pushing it clockwise (in a circle) to get it upright again. it won't just go up and down. When you start tightening, all threads on the plastic screw will be correct and clean. When you tighten a plastic screw into the metal grooves, the threads begin to strip and fill with shredded plastic, preventing further tightening. I ordered a replacement that works the same.
