I bought this to connect an extra socket to a key in my car. That said, the 12v outlets in my car are "always on" and I didn't really want to cut and solder them, I just wanted an extra outlet. Since it's tucked under and away and I won't be constantly plugging and unplugging things (this is for a DVR) it worked well. My only real complaint is that the wire is very thick and a little bulky. Getting around things is especially difficult in the cold Minnesota winter. But thick wire isn't necessarily a bad thing, and for the price you'd expect something a lot cheaper. So I think it's ok. The block works perfectly, there were no problems with it.
