During this time I have used almost all types and brands of finishing materials and all common application media (brush, spray, HVLP and standard), pads and French napkins. My recent experiences with waterborne urethanes (WBUs) have been both good and bad. I bought General Finishes WBU and was very disappointed. This would be a good product for wooden decking and stairs but not suitable for furniture or fancy woodwork. It dries too quickly for the coating to even out, leaving heavy applicator marks on the cured coating. On the other hand, I bought Rust-Oleum Ultimate Soft Touch. It is a dream to use and beautiful to look at and feel. I am very satisfied with the easy application and the result. You will not be disappointed with this product. It is applied with a brush and cures to an extremely hard surface, as smooth as a baby's. And you know.
