Worked on the first try! Your Subaru manual is the best place to go for instructions. Read the steps and be prepared to act quickly - even a 5 second delay can bring you back to start. The code number has to be entered twice for it to work. I made a sheet for quick access to the instructions in the manual without the extra stuff. It registered on the first try. As for the price, my Subaru dealer wanted $160 for the remote and $60 for the programming. This is the way!
