I have a 2W Planet Bike light. The light is good, but this mount needs an overhaul. I move my light between different bikes so I need to move the mount. The screw adjustment on the cam of this mount was meant to accommodate different sized handlebars, but that's too coarse a thread: one turn of the screw makes it either too loose or too tight. The mount works particularly poorly on tapered handlebars; The hard plastic slides easily over bare aluminum so it works towards the thinner part of the bar and comes off completely. The situation is made worse by the fact that the mount positions the light to make it heavy in the front (why? do they make it balanced?). If the bracket is too loose, an impact could cause the front of the light to fall off. (Or should I avoid bumps on my mountain bike?) However, if you have a PB light, there aren't many alternatives to using this mount. So maybe PB doesn't have much incentive to improve this group, no matter how simple and easy the changes are.
