I held my breath. on Cycling

So the story behind this purchase was that I bought a really cheap solar bike light from a Made in China company and the slide mount didn't fit on the light because the slide mount was too thick. Remember "Made in China". I couldn't find a company to request a replacement (unsurprisingly) so I figured I MAYBE just order a new mount. This mount wasn't expensive so I decided to give it a try. I held my breath as I pushed the mount into the light, but everything went perfectly. YUP! Now I can use…

good bracket good for sport

good bracket, four wheels are mounted on three wheels. The only complaint so far (more of a note than a complaint) is that the cam locking plane that holds the mount to the bike grip has come loose once or twice. BUT. Bags will work just fine. Full disclosure: the light never fell and I still haven't attached a strap to my lever so more of a note. The bracket is adjustable following good instructions: according to the instructions, rods from 25.4mm to 31.8mm are suitable. I have used on three…

Easy way to split Planet Bike Lights between bikes

I just bought an extra quick cam mount to split the Blaze 2W between a Trek Fx commuter bike and a mountain bike. This is highly recommended rather than reinstalling a single mount between multiple bikes as it is difficult to unscrew and readjust the latch every time it needs to be moved. The latch is handy in that you can adjust the lighting angle in a matter of seconds (down for driving in the dark, horizontal for a daylight flasher): slide the latch down, adjust the angle, move the latch up,

Bad design: Headlight

I have a 2W Planet Bike light. The light is good, but this mount needs an overhaul. I move my light between different bikes so I need to move the mount. The screw adjustment on the cam of this mount was meant to accommodate different sized handlebars, but that's too coarse a thread: one turn of the screw makes it either too loose or too tight. The mount works particularly poorly on tapered handlebars; The hard plastic slides easily over bare aluminum so it works towards the thinner part of the…

Expensive piece of plastic but works well with all PB headlights.

It's expensive for a small piece of plastic, but it's a lot cheaper to buy one for each of your bikes and move the light to whatever you're going to ride that day than to buy a light that you can always leave on any bike. This mount is very easy to install and very easy to use. For added security, even the mount itself is fairly easy to remove and replace if you lock your bike somewhere other than your own garage. I don't usually do this, but it's not difficult or time consuming for those who…
