Review on Akebono EUR1375 Disc Brake Pad Kit: Unmatched Performance and Durability for Superior Braking by Eddie Curd

I have an 11 Tiguan and the brakes squealed every time I went in reverse. The seller did not help even though the car was still under warranty. CRC disc brakes switched to these pads are quieter. The problem is solved. As others have reported, these pads are not as "aggressive" in a cold grip as the originals. But if you're driving 90% of the time - slamming on the brakes at the last second - you won't notice the difference because every stop is a panic stop for you. If you ride like the 10% of good drivers - be careful and slow down gradually - then you will find that these pads require more pedal effort on initial braking. One caveat - the Tig has an EPB (electronic parking brake). A VAGcom cable is required to replace the rear pads. Google first. But if you just want to replace the front pads, you don't need anything special. I only used QRC for double security, it should fix the horrible OEM noise. I recommend for the price.
