Smooth Brakes - Brake Pads

Replace the Original Equipment front pads and brake discs on your 2015 VW Passat with these brake discs from Akebono and Zimmerman. It's the difference between day and night - no more front wheel vibration when braking.

I love Akebono Pads! fits motorcycles and powersports bikes

I have used these pads in pickups, on my BMWs, VWs etc for years. These are the best pads on the market especially for the price. I don't even look for others anymore. They are quiet, very smooth-running and almost dust-free. Factory semi-metallics make a terrible mess on wheels and are difficult to put down. Not like this. Try them, you won't be disappointed!

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Good and quiet brakes

These pads have only been driven a few hundred miles but they are quiet and have good stopping power. They are paired with new OEM rotors so I will be monitoring the wear rate of both components to see if they are compatible. The bedding instructions call for 500 miles of moderate driving, so no hard braking. This is my daughter's daily driver so shouldn't be a problem.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Minor issues

High performance brake pads at a great price

I fitted these brake pads to my Volkswagen Tiguan and they performed as well if not better than the original pads which I replaced. This was my first brake change and I am happy to report that these pads were very easy to install. I've ridden about 600 miles, including in heavy rain, and had no problems. Highly recommended.

Loud rattle due to pad shifting

These pads have been quiet and reliable for the most part, but there is one major issue with them that is driving me nuts. They make a pretty loud noise in either direction when you first brake. When you put it in reverse and slow down. CLANNNK. Then forward and brake. KLANKK. Reverse and brake again. CLANNNK. This is an extremely annoying loud metallic tinkle that just comes from poor design and the wrong size of the ear. This will be my first and last sentence from Akebono unless they fix…

Akebono never lets me down

I have been using Akebono brake pads for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. I just installed it in my wife's 2012 VW Tiguan. The OEM pads made a terrible squeak and squeak. Since I didn't drive her car that often, I put it off. That is, until we've made the four-hour drive. It was unbearable so I decided to change them as soon as I got home. I replaced the rotors with a pair of Meyle and Akebono pads. A perfect addition as braking is now very quiet. Braking takes a bit more effort…

Best walking feeling for braking!

Do not judge the packaging or the outer layer of the brake. It appears to be a cheap package or a third party. Especially for cheap plastic skew pads. However, this is the best (or most expensive) brake pad I have ever used. I installed it in my VW Passat 2016. It comes with a brake sensor while the original doesn't have one. I couldn't find the sensor port either. So I shortened the sensor cable to match the caliber. I think this is a scam on the part of the manufacturer to encourage users to…

QRC pads and disc brake are quiet = brake squeal fixed

I have an 11 Tiguan and the brakes squealed every time I went in reverse. The seller did not help even though the car was still under warranty. CRC disc brakes switched to these pads are quieter. The problem is solved. As others have reported, these pads are not as "aggressive" in a cold grip as the originals. But if you're driving 90% of the time - slamming on the brakes at the last second - you won't notice the difference because every stop is a panic stop for you. If you ride like the 10% of
