I have been using Akebono brake pads for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. I just installed it in my wife's 2012 VW Tiguan. The OEM pads made a terrible squeak and squeak. Since I didn't drive her car that often, I put it off. That is, until we've made the four-hour drive. It was unbearable so I decided to change them as soon as I got home. I replaced the rotors with a pair of Meyle and Akebono pads. A perfect addition as braking is now very quiet. Braking takes a bit more effort in the morning, but after that they work fine. An additional advantage is that the wheels no longer get dirty like with factory brakes.
