I've been looking for a cell phone holder for my 2021 911 manual transmission for a long time. While there is a really nice phone mount for the PDK (automatic) that mounts right next to the PDK transmission tunnel, it won't work with a manual transmission as there's not enough room next to the shifter and you need even more room because you're going through manually 7 speeds to paddle. I bought this Arkon mount because I used a similar arm mount in one of my first cars decades ago. This thing works GREAT for my application. This was a little tricky because the mounting tab that fits under the seat bolt was too wide and I had to grind it down a bit to fit between the seat rail where the mounting bolt attaches. Once that was done, everything else fitted perfectly. This 22" lever version is just right for my car. Comfortable usable height. So make sure you select at least the 22" version. I don't even understand how that works on large vehicles like sedans and trucks bigger than mine The lever vibrated a bit but I took care of that, bent a piece of flat metal into a U shape, covered it with felt and put that U-bracket under the right side of the plastic pad on the right side of the transmission tunnel then zip the lever onto this bracket.The phone works great and the face recognition works very easy just quickly swipe and look at the phone from the side.Although the lever is attached to the front left screw on the passenger seat, can I can still move the seat all the way back and forth without disturbing the arm mount and without the passenger's legs banging against the arm. The one thing I had is that it partially blocks the glove box so I have to pull the car to the left a bit when opening to avoid getting into the glove box. from scratches on the arm. But that's not a problem at all. I can't put it any further to the left as it takes up my handroom when I put it in 7th gear or it obscures my view of the other controls. As previously mentioned, the lever is a very rigid solid piece of aluminum that is a bit difficult to bend. The good thing, however, is that once bent into the desired shape, it holds its shape very well. As others have pointed out, it's very important that you don't try to flex your arm while holding onto the plastic base that the arm goes in, or you'll break that piece of plastic. Pull the lever out, flex it, check the fit, and then retighten the aluminum lever on the plastic bracket. You will break this plastic fastener if you try to bend the aluminum arm after installation. Knowing that the plastic attachment point can break if I need to make small adjustments to the arm after installation, I make sure to grab and hold the bottom of the arm before adjusting the top of the aluminum arm. Overall this is a very durable, well built product that is reasonably priced and does exactly what I wanted it to do.
