I have had a constant vapor lock problem with our Cummins-Onan RV QG 4000 Evap. The generator worked normally at lower temperatures, but as soon as the temperature exceeded 80 degrees, it started cracking and jamming. Once cool it works fine until it warms up again. And then you guessed it: stalls! I rode this dam back and forth for about 3 years before deciding to replace the fuel pump. It wasn't that hard for a person of average ability. Space is very tight with a large circuit board crammed in there and of course it's a lot easier to take apart than put back together. It took me about an hour to remove and install the pump. While you're there, replace the fuel filter (part 149-2457 for 4000 QG RV evaporators). It's attached to the pump, so why not!?!? If you have this problem, you should also wrap the fuel lines in heat shield material. These generators are very tightly packaged and often the exhaust gases are routed directly along with the fuel lines. As a test, the generator ran with a new pump and filter for 8 hours on a 35 degree day without any problems. I think it's finally fixed!
