Review on 🏢 Honeywell 5816OD Outdoor Wireless Magnetic Contact Sensor by James Dominick

I rarely write reviews but I constantly see so many people wondering if they will work with their control panel that I feel compelled to narrow your search for a solution. I have a GE Simon control panel. and about 40 GE sensors throughout my house. I wanted to add sensors to the front gate in the courtyard, but GE doesn't have any weather/waterproof sensors. I kept seeing these HW sensors online and called several HW dealers to see how I could get them to work with GE Simon and they all said it wasn't possible. Then I came across Resolutions Product Translator, which does exactly what the name suggests. translates the signal from the sensor to communicate with the control panel. I called their tech support to make sure it would work and while it wasn't their original intention to do translators they couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work. My electrician installed the sensors using a translator designed for Honeywell Wireless to GE Wireless and it works like a charm. (They have a variety of translators depending on the sensors and control panel.) Now when one of my gates opens, I hear a beep and get a text notification of which gate was open and at what time. If the panel is configured to stop, the alarm will go off immediately. Excellent! FYI: I have NOTHING to do with Resolution Products
