Vintage Peugeot 10-speed

Good quality, low weight, including fastening material. I love the versatility of the MTX rail system. I have two of these shelves. A few years older one that I removed from my Motobecane Cafe Express 8 to see if I could modify it to work with my old 1980 Peugeot UO-8 which doesn't have soldered lugs. Ream vertical support arms 1/4. "To better match the non-threaded mounting points on the rear frame (upright/fender), I might use a 3/4" 1/4-20 socket head stainless steel bolt and nylock nut to attach it to the frame . The hole in the back was slightly larger than the rack so I wanted to eliminate any "play". Drilling the post was easy as it is aluminum. Just take your time and keep the drill centered on the existing hole. A pair of rubberized 1/2" P clamps, two more 3/4" 1/4-20 fasteners (same as rear), some measuring/cutting the length of the front support arms: it fits like it should . Looks great with the MTX trunk bag (and the Topeak handlebar bag). I buy a replacement to reinstall on Motobecane. It's easy to do, but I was a bit disappointed that the Topeak didn't include a simple back reflector. The older one has. The newer version includes two brackets for LED taillights. The frame itself is structurally unchanged. Of course, the brackets are designed for Topeak lights. But I could imagine other lights might work if they are the right size.
