Alternative and reusable respirator with a filter

Before the COVID-19 pandemic I had N95 masks for woodwork and drywall work. There is nothing for normal users to find. As a substitute, I tried surgical masks and imported KN95s. The problem with these masks though is that my goggles and ski goggles get fogged up and fogged up as they don't sit well on the nose and some particles get through the gaps. When I saw this USA made CP95 permanent protection model I had to try it. This mask is much smaller than dual filter masks/respirators like the 3M-6000 series. The CP95 works like the N95 with two headbands. The filter holder is a two-piece design that separates from the soft plastic mask, and the two-piece filter holder snaps together to connect the filter material. The weak point of this system is the frictional connection around the large filter holder. The filter looks like a few sheets of Kleenex tissue paper with a teardrop shaped cutter stamped on them. There are no replacement filters to purchase individually, but the mask comes with 10 filters. I hope that other types of filters will be available to filter different particles or even some gas vapors and they should be available. I want the thin straps and buckles to be mounted on a medium sized mask. But it's a traditional top/bottom buckle/loop design like camera straps. The straps could be a bit wider but when tightened they are very secure, comfortable and provide a very good fit especially around the nose and chin. My goggles and goggles do not fog up. I was surprised how cool a breath of air is. It feels like I don't have a filter due to the thin filter material. In the long run, this can be a bad sign. But with the help of a random orbit sander and a final hand sanding of the drywall section, the filter kept all the drywall dust out. I usually wipe off a layer of powder in my nostrils with other masks, especially when sanding down the ceiling. So far I'm very happy with this respirator design on the first grind. I think there is room for improvement in filters and the possible value for money of replacement filters.
