Self-adhesive metal pads do not stick well to the back glass of my iPhone 12 Pro. I also tried it with a thin transparent film. Same result. The metal and glue adhered perfectly to the clear film, but the film didn't stick to my iPhone. I made sure to thoroughly clean the back of the phone with 99% isopropyl alcohol, wipe with a clean paper towel and wait for it to dry. dry before applying metal with 3M adhesive. I don't use a case. Just a bare phone. If metal plates are applied without a film, it fails immediately. Worked with a transparent film for 3 days, then failed. Failure mode in all scenarios - when I pull the phone out of the holder, the phone detaches but the metal plate sticks to the holder.
