Open Source Digital Repository Software

I like that it is free to use for academic repositories (as opposed of other software which are expensive). It has some limitations in terms user interface but they have been working hard at improving this over time as well so there should be no problems with using dSpace within an institution or organization once improvements come out later down stream! If you want something easy/free then go ahead - otherwise look into more advanced open source solutions such as Fedora Commons / Shibboleth etc.. There's nothing really bad about DSpace itself though if your repository isn't too large nor complex than its probably fine unless someone else can give me better reasons why not? We've used both OAIster + Metadata Harvesting tools from ResearchGate along side our own internal metadata harvesting tool called MyDSPaceMetadatawrapper alongside each others data feeds via their respective APIs allowing us access across.
