Review on πŸ”Œ Nema 17 Stepper Motor 42 Motor 1" by Usongshine by Mark Green

Strong and quiet.

I bought this stepper motor to replace a broken one on my BMG extruder. The packaging was adequate and the engine arrived in perfect condition. The silver parts are finished with a flake-like silver finish. It looks very nice and stands out from the other steppers in my collection. When I first plugged in the stepper, it didn't work. He made a hoarse noise and stopped dead in his tracks. I substituted another stepper to make sure my printer wasn't the problem and that it was working as expected. Turns out the pin placement is different from my current steppers. As far as I know there are at least 2 stepper motor pinouts you will come across. The stepper motor kit included a 1 meter cable and upon inspection I noticed that the two center wires were reversed. Instead of re-soldering the connector, which is easy to do, I simply replaced the wire that came with the stepper motor. I tested it again and it worked great. So if you encounter this problem with a stepper, consider using the wire that came with it, or swapping the middle two wires. I had no skipped steps or an inability to keep up with the 120mm/s print speed. I didn't really pay attention to how loud my old stepper was, but I'm sure this one was almost silent in comparison. Since then I have printed at least 5 models and am very happy with the stepper motor. I bought it as a spare, not an upgrade, so I wasn't expecting more from it than what came in the stock unit, but even then I feel like I got something better than I expected.
