The cord itself was defective. The signal on the phone dropped and disappeared unless the cord was tugged in a certain direction. .and even then the signal was dead more often than alive. (It wasn't an anti-tangle attachment; tried an existing cable and it was fine.) Maybe it's an accident so Amazon is replacing it and hopefully it was a one-time issue. I will update the review accordingly. UPDATE: So the replacement got lost in transit which may be Amazon's fault rather than the seller. I will order it again because I want to give them a second chance. . I hope it works out this time.
