A valuable purchase, some advantages!
The player evokes strong emotions. Headphones must match, be approximately in the same price category, for example, plus or minus 50% of the price of the player. I installed . Music so that sometimes from the old collection I can listen to something on the player that does not have better recordings - they also become more interesting to sound. I also ordered another balanced cable to the headphones to continue the experiments.
- Super sound. More immersive, more volume, more detail, more naturalness. In the familiar dsd files, which I used to listen to from laptops through external DACs, I began to hear much more - somewhere there is a breath that I had not heard before, somewhere not two but five soloists sing along and you can feel where they are standing, it involves, a strong effect of presence is created when records.
- It seemed to be a disadvantage, but it only seemed: initially it did not read all dff files. It turned out that dff files are of two types - with the dsd codec (read) and the dst codec (not read - this is an archive). I unpacked those files into the dsd codec (in the same bitrate, of course), and they also began to be read.
