I'm not very happy with it. It was late to the Prime and the original packaging was loosely packed in Prime's outer box with no packaging. I felt a rattle as I pulled the package out of the mailbox. It was marked new as expected but it looks like the seal on the original box was once there and removed. No instructions or other paper inserts, but I had some education and figured out how to turn it on (dumb joke). The backlight should get brighter (or quieter) when you press and hold the "On" button. However, it was so subtle that it was difficult for me to make out what it was. I finally found that as you held down the sensitive light switch, it got brighter. On the plus side, the bulb and plug look new and the price was cheap. Also works and looks good. I'm keeping it because I now use it for typing on my small laptop keyboard and it makes it easier to read the keys I rarely use but always seem to need when I'm in the corner of my house in the dim light sitting at my computer. Office. The extra USB socket on the lamp is useful when it works. I will update this if I run into any issues. Update July 8, 2018 I'm giving one more star because I've been using this lamp almost constantly since I received it. USB works and is very convenient. The three light levels are clearly visible even in a darkened room. The lamp fits behind the lid of my laptop when I'm using it, but the lamp head curves over nicely giving the perfect light on the keyboard. The only problem was the lack of documentation and apparently a previous open box. Certainly not enough negative points to just give it three stars. Update November 8, 2018 I have been using this lamp daily since I bought it four months ago. No questions. When I'm not on my computer 10 hours a day, I use it as a night light for my home office.
