This camera comes with a small 'gooseneck' tripod. The tripod can be placed on a table, or the tripod can be bent and manipulated to fit over the monitor if you want it there temporarily. Or the tripod can be removed to place it over the monitor for a longer period of time. The picture is great. The camera can be rotated up and down to aim the way you want. The camera lens cap is not "pre-installed", you need to install it by yourself. It has double sided tape and you align it on top of the lens. But I like that I can close the camera whenever I want and open it only when I want. I usually leave the camera unplugged from the computer when not in use, and to set it up and turn it off, just plug it into the USB port and unplug it. No software.
