Float switch is good and works as advertised. It's a bit heavy and the cover is removable if you just want to use the switch without the cover - there are only two screws on the side. If you install it with a cover, the screws go from the top. I am not happy with this float switch just because it activates/turns on the bilge pump at a very high level. Approximately two inches + click. That's a lot for a boat since the surface area inside the boat can be very wide and, for example, two inches of water in a 27 foot boat can mean more than 20 gallons of water before the bilge pump kicks in. The float switch sits 2/5" higher than the base level. Once it cycles on and off, it turns the pump off when it is 1" from the level of the base. So technically you already have an inch of water left, no matter how close to the hull you mount this thing I used some foam and glue to make the difference Overall a good change to see how it holds up this season Purchased with a 1200 Attwood bilge pump gph.
