Cooler Master AMD Wraith Ripper has NOT enough cooling capacity for AMD 3970X CPU. Even after downgrading the Ryzen Master processor from its 280W to 200W, the processor continues to run VERY HOT, TOO HOT! I am using a Solidworks CFD workstation and am currently monitoring the CPU temperature. that's 76°C at only 200 watts! This temperature far exceeds AMD's recommended maximum of 68°C. So the processor performance has to be further reduced? 180 watts? 160 watts? The processor idles at 100 watts, so there's not much to cut back on. This is temperature wise unacceptable and the power loss at 200W is unacceptable. What was Cooler Master thinking? This cooler should never have been sold for the 3970X. If you have an AMD 3970X, you don't need this cooler. If you don't keep a close eye on temperatures, your $2,000 processor is busted. or you need to be powerful enough to stick your processing speed into slooowww moootiooon. no I do not think so. Turn off everything. This brand new cooler has been carefully installed and needs to be removed as soon as possible. We start the return process and look for an alternative. QUICKLY.
