Only works on PC and only on external monitors (not VR or Mac).
This adapter works great at nominal specs on a PC laptop, but I was never able to get 4k 60fps on a 2015 Macbook Pro, which is why I bought it. It outputs video for Mac but only 4k at 30fps. Also does NOT work for Oculus Rift. The Oculus software thinks it's connected to the Rift, but the screen stays black no matter what you do. I tried troubleshooting Oculus support and they said they don't believe my laptop supports VR (but it does). It turned out that this adapter is not working properly. For some reason the Cable Matters 4k adapter worked great with my Rift.
