Review on Enhance Sound Quality with Rolls EQ570 Audio Equalizer by Carlos Whitfield

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worth it, but with reservations and criticism.

I give this device 5 stars because it has greatly improved the sound of my Yamaha CD-S700 CD player. However, I must add a warning and criticism. Warning: the connection instructions that came with this unit list the options for connecting to your amplifier, in my case a Yamaha R-S700 receiver. That does not work! With this connection, the protection circuitry in the receiver worked as soon as I turned on Bellari, causing the receiver to turn off. I checked the connections carefully and made sure I connected the Bellari correctly; When I turned the receiver back on everything worked, but when I turned Bellari off and on again the protection circuitry worked again. When I connected Bellari to my CD player, this did not happen. So I only use Bellari for the CD player and not, as I had hoped, also for the phonograph and radio. Criticism. There are small lines on each knob to show it turning, but they're almost impossible to see, regardless of the lighting. These lines should be contrasted in color or better illuminated. Also, there are no numbers around the knobs, making it impossible to record the settings you want. However, Bellari made my CD player sound like I'd added a tube module - the sound is fuller and richer, a particular benefit with old records that used to be hard to hear but now sound good. Hence five stars.
