Review on Saddle up in comfort with the Serfas E-Gel Cruiser Bicycle Saddle by Nick Ward

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Brilliant! no more pain Great for the Clydes!

Before ordering this saddle I was skeptical about how it would look on my new supersport mountain bike. I didn't want the bike to look like it was made for my grandma. However, I took the risk because I had to get rid of the infamous "biker ass”. After a 12 year hiatus from cycling I'm trying to get back together with my girls and don't want to go through all the biker initiation. I'm Clyde at 260lbs (always been) and needed a wide seat for me. This saddle distributes my weight perfectly on my tailbone - no more pain! Out of the box: totally impressed by the look and feel. The seat is soft like "gel" (if you want something firmer, try the "double density" seats). The general build quality makes a solid impression. However, I'm a bit skeptical about the seat cover as it feels a bit flimsy (we'll see in time). The seat is wide, but not so wide that my mountain bike looks like a beach cruiser. In fact, it actually looks sporty and I don't feel bad showing it off. First impressions of the trip: installed and driven 12 miles. It was wonderful! Although I was still in pain on the previous ride with my stock seat, on this ride I had absolutely no pain and was able to focus on cycling instead of getting up every few minutes to give my butt a rest. At first I thought the gel might be too soft, but it's not. Anatomical Hole: I've never had an issue with numbness so I can't attest to the effectiveness of the Anatomical Hole. However, it makes the seat lighter and looks pretty cool. Conclusion: a very satisfied customer. Highly recommended.
