I need a cheap multimeter to log some temperature data. This multimeter has a serial output and a thermocouple reader, so it's good enough for that. The included thermocouple is pretty awful (it's covered in cloth) and dimmed noticeably at 350F within an hour. Otherwise I haven't really tested it. If I needed a general purpose multimeter in this price range I would choose the UT61E as it is much more accurate and has a better overall feature set.
