Lack of reliability 305

Bought this watch to complement my Garmin 305. 305 is large and bulky, have been using it for several years both on and off road road events . I was planning on leaving my 305 for mud and water off-road racing (works great either way) and using the 405 as my road running watch with its slimmer design and cool UI - BAD IDEA! The idea of a touch bezel sounds great in theory and can work great if the watch is working properly. For me, the enter/next button would keep getting stuck rendering the front panel inoperable. I thought it was a bad device and ordered a replacement - of course that couldn't happen to the other person. The device worked exactly one day. The front panel UI was a nice touch and to prevent accidental access I locked it. However, it will buzz constantly. On the second day, I couldn't lock the bezel (by pressing both buttons), but I noticed that only pressing the back button unlocked/locked it. The reason for this was the jamming of the Enter key - as with the first device. I've tried restarting the device multiple times to no avail. In the end I just sent the device back for a refund. Perhaps there is a replacement or some sort of upgrade for this model. I've considered buying a second 305, a red one for dirt racing and a blue one for street racing, but I really don't need more than one. I will happily continue using my bulky and reliable 305 until something equally reliable and more aesthetically pleasing comes along.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Stick with the 305. Inferior and Flawed Update.

Useful with one annoying design flaw
