Terrible smell! I'm severely allergic to rubber to the point where the smell makes me nauseous. I bought the black case on January 7th 2021 and was very pleased with it, but got sick before I got it on my iPad. It was the right size and seemed durable, but once I put it on I didn't think I could take it off. I think the colored ones may actually be silicone, but the soft part of the all black ones is definitely rubber. I think if you don't have a rubber allergy but don't like strong smells, you should choose a different color or maybe a different cover. I can't return it even though it's been less than 30 days because I'm disabled and just become a widow, so I'll just accept the loss. If you are considering a purchase, simply assess your needs. This can work well for you if you pay attention to the smell.
