Terrible smell! I'm severely allergic to rubber to the point where the smell makes me nauseous. I bought the black case on January 7th 2021 and was very pleased with it, but got sick before I got it on my iPad. I don't know what the people who called this cheap plastic were expecting. The plastic on mine is comparable to other cases, plus the silicone bumper is nice and thick, but not overly thick. The cover covers the controls but does not interfere with their use. The charging hole fits a regular cable but I had one of those side charging cables and it doesn't work as it's wider than the hole. No problem really, just use a normal charging cable.
